The property was once divided into three farms: "Trebbio," "Stanghetta," and "Ramatone," each with its own farmhouse and adjoining land. Tobacco was once the predominant crop, as evidenced by the four buildings used as drying sheds. From the very beginning, the company has focused its operations on respect for the environment and the enhancement of the local area.
2019 was dedicated to cleaning up the property, which had been abandoned. During this process, the existing trees were restored, including ten centuries-old oaks, two of which are of extraordinary size. Furthermore, over 700 monocultivar Morcone della Valtiberina olive trees were planted, and over 300 previously neglected centuries-old olive trees were restored.
That same year, an ambitious agritourism renovation plan was presented, aimed at creating approximately 40 rooms and suites. Renovation work began in late February 2020, starting with the creation of five rooms, and was carried out respecting the buildings' original features, preserving every historical detail. Podere Tovari è una location per matrimoni ed eventi a Sansepolcro e Arezzo, che si contraddistingue per la sua posizione immersa nel verde e la sua cucina gourmet.

The first building to be restored was the one located on the "Stanghetta" farm. Here, a large farmhouse still houses ancient features, such as the old manger, the wood-burning oven, and the traditional kitchen with cauldron, a symbol of rural life. The historic stone stairs lead to a large loggia offering magnificent views of the Tiber Valley.
Inside, the house includes a spacious living room with exposed walls and vaulted ceilings. Five bedrooms were created in the sleeping area, all with private bathrooms. In 2021, restoration work continued with the completion of three additional bedrooms, including spaces accessible to people with disabilities.
Furthermore, the old stables have been restored and a basin once used to store acorns for animal feed in winter has been uncovered. The Podere's first swimming pool, "La Ghiandaia," was built on this basin.
One of the most fascinating corners is the old tobacco shed, where the famous Tuscan black cigar tobacco was dried. Today, this space is dedicated to tastings of our cigar selection, offering visitors a unique sensory experience.
Podere Tovari, rich in historical and natural heritage, offers a holiday destination as well as a meeting point between agricultural tradition and tourism innovation, reflecting its founders' love and passion for this land.
In 2022, Podere "Ramatone" underwent an extraordinary restoration, bringing to light the wonders of a vibrant past. The main building, the largest on the estate, also underwent an exceptional renovation, featuring a grand Corten iron staircase leading to the upper floors. Inside, seven bedrooms welcome guests, with wooden beam ceilings and antique tiles recalling the past, yet modernized, splendor of the peasant walls, with exposed stone creating a rustic-elegant atmosphere, typical of Tuscan homes.
At the heart of this complex, a spa dedicated to the well-being of guests has been created, featuring a rejuvenating sauna, a sensory shower, and a herbal tea room, where guests can indulge in moments of relaxation and well-being. A panoramic pool of approximately 50 square meters, located in the old manure heap, features hydromassage jets and waterfalls, and is surrounded by Corten iron gazebos, ideal for enjoying aperitifs or simply for a refreshing read.
The surrounding landscape is the finest expression of Tuscan living, with umbrellas and loungers positioned between Podere Stanghetta and Podere Ramatone. Here, guests can relax in the sun and enjoy a breathtaking view. Further down the valley, a sensory trail invites you to remove your shoes and walk barefoot, for a full stimulation of the feet's sensory points. This path leads to an olfactory trail, where a variety of aromatic medicinal herbs offer unique scents capable of evoking and creating memories.
In 2023, the restaurant "La Cucina del Podere" was opened, located in the main "Stanghetta" building and nestled in the Tuscan loggia. The different areas of the restaurant each have their own identity: from the loggia with panoramic views of the countryside and the valley, to the internal dining rooms featuring a blend of ancient and modern styles, to the former calf stables transformed into elegant private rooms. Each space is designed to offer a charming and intimate experience, where culinary art enhances authentic flavors thanks to the search for the highest-quality ingredients.
Among the cuisine's strengths is its extraordinary olive oil, represented by five monocultivar varieties: Leccino, Gentile di Anghiari, Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Morcone. Cinta Senese DOP enriches the menu, available both as delicious fresh cuts and as cured meats on stunning platters. Veal, raised free-range in the area, also guarantees authentic products with the typical flavor of local cattle. Fresh eggs, Lunigiana DOP honey, and a selection of high-quality Tuscan wines round out the offerings.
February 2024 marked another important step for Podere Tovari with the opening of three new rooms. The Lounge Bar, with its luxurious industrial design, offers a comfortable and well-equipped business area. An open space for large groups and a spa complete with sauna and sensory shower further enhance the guest experience.
In 2025, Podere Tovari expanded to accommodate business and experience guests, creating rooms suitable for business travelers and spaces dedicated to conferences. The goal is to offer unique experiences, such as bike tours in the beautiful Tiber Valley, oil and wine tastings, and truffle hunting, in an environment that celebrates the ancient bond between man and the land.

Podere Tovari is more than just a place to stay; it's a life experience that celebrates rural culture and natural rhythms, offering authentic values and a luxury nourished by simplicity and authenticity. In this setting, each guest finds not only a refuge, but also an opportunity to rediscover themselves, immersing themselves in an experiential journey capable of restoring mind and body.
